It was all oysters and champers at the British Guild of Travel Writers pre-AGM event, 31 January 2012, at Nausicaa located in Boulougne sur Mer www.nausicaa.co.uk. With catering by the incomparable La Matelote Hotel and Restaurant www.la-matelote.com (located directly across from Nausicaa). There was the opportunity to see the aquarium exhibits and experience the sting ray and shark petting pool, as well as see all the other sea life exhibits including a huge tubular tank full of diaphanous jelly fish. The catering featured canapes, fish specialities, a pasta main course and was topped off with tarte au zucre. All the food was locally made and sourced and was truly spectacular. Nausicaa is world known for its environmental campaigns such as Mr. Good Fish, which promote responsible fishing practices and eating local and seasonal seafood. The outdoor exhibit features wonderful California sea lions and shows.
